About the Challenge Golf Program

The Challenge Golf Course was the first facility in the nation designed specifically for with disabled golfers in mind. Our staff of caregivers put each patients' care and safety in the forefront every time they visit Challenge Golf. The entire program has been a model and information resource for similar programs, both nationally and internationally.

Challenge Golf offers classes, private instructions and open golf for Juniors, Seniors, beginners or anyone that wants to enjoy a quiet round of golf on our one of kind designed course or hit range balls at one of three tee areas. There is also a practice putting green along with a green for chipping and pitching.

Challenge Golf is funded by the generous contributions of people like you. Please consider donating today. 100% of your donation will support the program.

Challenge Golf features a 3 green design where golfers target 1 of 3 different color flags on each green while teeing off from the matching color tee for each hole. This design allows for a challenging 9 hole, par 3 course on a beautiful tree lined property that creates a scenic view for all to enjoy.

The practice facility at Challenge Golf features 3 unique sets of tees for golfers of all skill levels to utilize. The "Big Tee" area has 10 stalls and features grass tees & golf course style tee markers. The hitting area has an overall distance of 300+ yards long and 150 yards wide. The "Hill" tees includes 8 stalls with mats or grass tees and the "Challenge" tees were developed with golfers with disabilities and features 8 mat stalls, target flags and putting green.

The Clubhouse at Challenge Golf offers green fees, range balls, restrooms and cold drinks. The parking lot contains multiple handicap parking spaces for those physically challenged.

Golf has proven to be a wonderful way for people with disabilities to refocus on their abilities and redirect their thoughts to the positive side of life. Recreational therapists developed the concept of Challenge Golf, as a means of providing therapeutic benefits to persons recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations and neuromuscular disorders.

The program has expanded to include adults and children with visual impairments, persons with developmental challenges, and those with less disabling impairments, such as hip or knee replacements. It is designed to assist all individuals, both disabled and able-bodied in learning the game of golf for the first time or experienced golfers in need of adaptive assistance. It also provides a supportive atmosphere to encourage persons with disabilities to play golf and build their skills, as well as helps individuals set goals, grow in confidence and self-esteem, and improve their mental and physical health.
